Simon-Tagg-small.gifThank you for your interest in becoming Chief Executive of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council. We think that this is a genuinely exciting opportunity, simply because there are so many different opportunities to drive success and prosperity throughout the location.

Newcastle and Kidsgrove may be relatively small market towns. But there are significant factors that make our Borough remarkable. We are a university town, with Keele University just a stone’s throw from the town centre. Over the last two decades, the University has grown significantly and there are more plans to build and develop the area around the campus.

We have one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country on our doorstep. This is another major influence on how our Borough grows and the critical decisions we make around transport and infrastructure. Partnerships play a huge role in how we shape, develop and invest in our Borough for the future and maximise the opportunities to grow. As a Council, we are open, collaborative and forward-thinking, exploring every opportunity to innovate.

We are intent on creating a unique Borough. A great place to live in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside, as well as a world-class place to study and work. As Chief Executive, you will be at the heart of the vision, balancing the needs of our varied population and fostering the partnerships that can cement our success for the long term.

Yours sincerely,

Cllr Simon Tagg
Leader of the Council
